Farnborough International Airshow 2024 – shaping the future of aerospace

Our participation at the Farnborough International Airshow was marked by significant key engagements, collaborations, and industry presentations.

Our highlights: 

  • We were delighted to meet with Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer and Rt Hon Jonathan Reynolds MP, Secretary of State for Business and Trade.
  • We hosted Sir Mark Hendrick, Labour & Co-operative Member of Parliament for Preston
  • Our team hosted officials from the Swedish Ministry of Defence and U.S. DoD
  • We met with Mike Kane MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Aviation, Maritime and Security Minister), to discuss our technology’s role in enabling zero-carbon aviation.
  • Promoted our collaboration with Cranfield Aerospace Solutions, highlighting our ongoing partnership and joint efforts in hydrogen aerospace innovation.
  • Attendance at AUKUS workshop, a trilateral security partnership for the Indo-Pacific region between Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Presentations and panels: 

  • Our Head of Sustainability participated in a panel titled: “Achieving Net-Zero: The Role of Innovation, Technology, and Government in the Aerospace Industry”
  • Our Head of Aerospace participated in the ATI showcase event, presenting our pioneering work in thermal management solutions to enable ultra efficient next generation and zero carbon flight
  • We participated in the New Professionals Forum (NPF) Panel, sharing insights and expertise with emerging industry professionals.
  • Our Vice President at Reaction Engines Inc. attended the AIA roundtable, an exclusive reception with high-level DOD U.S. government officials, AIA member company executives, and foreign delegations.

Key focus on our technology and innovation on display:

  • Novel heat exchanger technology to achieve higher rates of cooling
  • Low-cost, innovative reusable propulsion system to unlock high Mach/hypersonic flight for UK and U.S. customers
  • Low-drag advanced radiators for defence applications
  • Technology to address the unique heat management challenges of future net zero systems.
  • Water-cooled performance charge air coolers. Setting set new standards for heat management in automotive (ICE and fuel cell), aerospace and more.
  • Promote innovative solutions and systems for the world’s heat management challenges

STEM engagement: 

  • Our outreach team ran a fantastic STEM activity during the Pioneers of Tomorrow Day, where participants of all ages, built planes and tested them in our wind tunnel, inspiring the next generation of aerospace engineers. 

 

Our presence at the Farnborough International Airshow has not only reinforced our position in the aerospace industry but strengthened our industry relationships alongside building new strategic partnerships with customers.
